What Our Art Storage Includes
Not everything a collection holds should be on the wall at once, and a garage, basement, or general-purpose storage unit is rarely the right place for the rest of it. Raven Art Services provides climate-controlled storage for artwork in the Wood River Valley, with the same handling standards we bring to installation: careful preparation before anything is put away, protective packing suited to the material, and considered placement rather than pieces stacked against one another.
Storage can be short-term or ongoing. Clients use it between exhibitions, during a house move or renovation, while a wall is being rebuilt, and through the parts of the year when a seasonal home stands empty. Whatever the reason, the work is prepared for the duration you actually need rather than for a default arrangement.
Who It Is For
Private collectors, galleries rotating inventory, interior designers holding pieces between project phases, and other art professionals who need artwork looked after by people who handle it for a living. Paintings and framed work are supported and separated; sculpture is assessed for weight, balance, and material before it is set down; works on paper are given particular care, as they are the least forgiving of poor conditions.
Pickup, Delivery, and Installation
Storage rarely stands on its own. We coordinate pickup and delivery throughout Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey, and Bellevue, and can carry a piece from storage straight through to installation on the same visit.

How It Works
Review and Intake
We go through what is going into storage — dimensions, medium, condition, and how long you expect it to stay — so the plan fits the collection rather than the other way round.
Prepare and Place
Each piece is packed or soft-packed as its material requires, then placed in climate-controlled storage with the support and separation appropriate to its size and fragility.
Retrieve and Reinstall
When you are ready, we retrieve, transport, and deliver the work — and can reinstall it in the same visit rather than leaving you with packed crates.
Serving the Wood River Valley
Storage intake and retrieval throughout the valley, with regional transportation available across Idaho and to Western destinations depending on scheduling and project requirements.
Art Storage Questions
Is the storage climate-controlled?
Yes. Artwork is kept in climate-controlled storage rather than an ordinary unheated unit, which matters in a valley that swings from dry winter cold to summer heat.
Can I store artwork for just a few weeks?
Yes. We take on both short-term holding — during a renovation, a move, or a change of exhibition — and longer-term storage for collections that are not currently on view.
Do you pack the work before it goes into storage?
We prepare and pack work as part of the intake. Paintings, framed pieces, works on paper, and sculpture each need different protection and support, and we choose materials and methods accordingly.
Can you collect the artwork and reinstall it later?
Yes. We can handle pickup, transport into storage, retrieval, delivery, and reinstallation, so the same team handles the work at both ends.
What information do you need for a storage estimate?
Dimensions and quantity of the pieces, the medium of each, whether they are already packed, how long you expect to store them, and any access or scheduling needs.
